Monet of The Rhyme Book

Born to write? That could be truthfully said. You would think she was born with a pen in hand and that the truth was her first language. She was born Monét Lachelle Freeman on August 28th, 1986 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Known to some as “Neezy” or “Cheeks”, she tries to live as the definition of running a dream dry. Her roots are dug deep in music from singing in the Sunshine Band as a child to Voices of Tomorrow. By the time she reached high school she found that her calling was not in the spotlight but behind the scenes. Finding comfort in journalism she began to write poetry and raps to help cope with the growing pains of life. In obtaining a degree in Paralegal Studies and getting her certification in Cosmetology, she didn’t feel it was enough so she is now currently enrolled at Tidewater Community College studying Journalism. She has discovered that the best way to find herself is in the service of others, thus leading her to aid the exposure of others who are finding their way in the music industry by exposing true Hip-Hop. With her loves of fashion, cosmetology, photography, writing and music, she feels there is no better way to live than with her heart planted right smack dab in the middle of it all.
